Microviable received the Certificate of Innovative SME awarded by the Spanish Ministry “Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades“.
This certificate is an official recognition from the Ministry of the innovative work carried out by Microviable in the development of microbiota-based medicinal products (MMPs). This seal distinguishes small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a strong commitment to Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I). To obtain this recognition, companies are evaluated on their success in competitive funding opportunities, the consecution of their own patents, and other factors that demonstrate research and innovation.
In the case of Microviable, it has more than one element for which to receive this seal of excellence, including the patent published last year (WO 2025/141228) that protects the lead candidate MVT-201 and the European project MICROBOOST approved within the framework of funding of the Eurostars-3 Program, among others.
Beyond the recognition, which is no small feat, this certification grants access to certain tax advantages, preferential funding in various calls for proposals, and a better position for innovative public procurement.
